Recycled, upcycled, salvaged leather turned into bags

Want not, waste not. Turning old, salvaged leather into art.

I love leather and everything about it... It's quality, feel and look. When I first started sewing leather I practiced with old leather jackets or skirts or whatever I could find. Then I realized there was so much character in a leather piece that had already lived one life. I also love the idea of recycling old pieces and saving them from being wasted in the back of someone's closet (or buried in a landfill!). Sometimes the character of the jacket even shows through in the pattern of a bag. It's amazing what a good cleaning (or 2 or 3!) and some un-sewing can do for an outdated, rather-ugly garment:)
I love being able to create whatever is in my head. I love even more the challenge and art of using oldies to make new, more useful goodies.
