Hi there! I'm McKenna, the designer and owner behind Well Explored Co.
In 2018, I opened an Etsy shop as a creative outlet—dabbling in many crafts and handmade items (including some maps at the time). Through all of these experiments, I found that the maps really connected with people. They enjoyed finding their favorite town or vacation spot, and used them as a reminder of their favorite places. I, too, enjoyed maps for this reason and the process of map-making.
In 2022, I renamed the business to Well Explored Co. and started focusing more on these maps and outdoor-themed products. Long road trips, camping trips, and National/State Parks have always been a big part of my life, so this new brand only felt natural. In fact, many of the products I design are inspired by places I've been.
Fast forward to 2025, Well Explored is still growing and I'm always working on new things. You can find products here online, at many local markets throughout the year, and in stores around the Grand Rapids area.
