Our Story
WhatPocket began in a college apartment when our founder, Mike Flora, hand-stitched the very first prototype. He trusted it to carry his wife’s engagement ring on a trip to Barcelona, where he planned to propose, navigating busy markets that were known hotbeds for pickpockets.
The WhatPocket kept the ring safe until the moment that mattered most. Over the next several months, Mike wore it daily while traveling through Chicago, Detroit, Costa Rica, Spain, France, and Colombia, testing its comfort and security in real-world situations.
After countless tweaks, better tools, and experiments with different materials, colors, and sizes, the eighth prototype became WhatPocket Original. That first product started WhatPocket and a simple approach we still follow today: create clever, lightweight, minimalist products that make carrying your essentials easier and more secure. From travel to everyday carry, every WhatPocket product is designed to do more without weighing you down.
