My Journey From Traditional to Digital Art On Canvas
My passion for art was first inspired by my dad who was an amazing self-taught charcoal sketch artist who specialized in figures, ships, and portraits. The youngest of six, I am the only one of my siblings that took to art. And, my art is what brought me and my husband (a graduate of Parson's School Of Design) together 35 years ago.
I've always painted on canvas, including flowers, abstracts, and mixed media portraits. In 2019, I brought my art to two YouTube Channels (abstract and mixed media portrait art) where I share my step-by-by-step process with my subscribers from my art studio.
Beyond the canvas, I've always enjoyed using software programs to push my creativity. When AI went mainstream, I was instantly hooked! The prospect of creating art digitally from my imagination, leveraging my traditional art skills, was so appealing to me that I eagerly opened my Etsy shop, When & Again in May 2024.
MY DIGITAL ART PROCESS: The wall art prints and Frame TV art available on my shop starts with a vision. I use AI prompting processes that I have fine-tuned for nearly two years. That is just the beginning. From there, I take the digital paintings through a long editing process using multiple programs.
I upload regularly -- focusing on painterly abstract to folk art for everyday and seasonal home decor for both wall art prints and Frame TV art.
