I took a leap of faith!
Someone kept telling me I should open an etsy shop. I wasn't even sure what one was at the time, so I did some snooping around and liked what I saw.
I opened my shop, appropriately, on leap day of 2008. At 20 cents per item, I really had nothing to lose so I took a leap of faith.
I originally opened my shop to sell my wool, yarn, roving and needle felted creations, but it quickly took another turn. I am a life-long collector of "stuff" and an avid garage saler. I love the thrill of the hunt and after 30 + years of collecting, I have many treasures to share.
I have been very pleased with my etsy shop and have enjoyed the many customers I have from all over the world. I would have to say that 99% of my fellow etsians are awesome people.
I have tried to treat them as if they were walking into my shop, the way I'd like to be treated.
I have recently changed my shop name to better fit me and the things I sell. "Where The Rooster Crows" has a long history here on the farm and started out as a needle point I created over 30 years ago. It's been a personal motto and if you knew my husband, you'd know the double-meaning!
With that facelift I sought out a fellow etsian who created a rockin' new banner for me with my '34 Ford! I love it! I am also going through a transformation here at home and redoing my "hurling" room to better suit my needs as a seller. It all feels good and I love etsy! It's where I am supposed to be.
