Hi and thankyou for stopping in at Whitakers! A one-woman shop and design service providing quality, homemade decor in a classic country style with a contemporary twist.

From a purely personal perspective, the Covid 19 pandemic was revolutionary! I had been working in a local pub for many years, serving pints and laughing with friends, whilst creating and drawing for various projects. Which on the outside isn’t necessarily a bad situation to be in, but I craved for more.

I have always made and created, from making clothes (that really weren’t anything more than crudely stitched together scraps of fabric) when I was small, decorating everything possible with swirly flowers and images of animals and mythical creatures to taking electronics apart to see what was inside. I was and still am inherently curious about how things fit together and work.

Later life saw me working as a jewellery shop manager and window dresser, an international jewellery buyer and a tattoo artist! A bit of a mixed bag, but all with creating and designing at their heart.

With this project, I aim to provide an upholstery and design services, working with furniture, lampshades, cushions and headboards! It really is amazing what a pop of colour can do for not only the look of a room, but also your mood and well being!
