From One “Witch” to Another...
The Wicked Stitch Works was created because of my love of everything strange, foul-mouthed, and sarcastic. Skulls, human figures, botanical illustrations, and everything in between have become inspirations for my work. The embroidery came into play from needing a quiet activity I could do during my shifts working with hospice and dementia patients. It’s quiet, unobtrusive to grieving families, and something most of my geriatric clientele could connect with and reminisce about.
The two came together one day with the infamous “Floral F-bomb” hoop that is still hanging in our friend’s living room. Carefully stitching foul language was cathartic and amused my salty, wicked little heart to no end. I made more and it’s all been downhill from there.
I have since expanded to include my needle felting, jewelry, plushes, and sculpture work. Always focusing on reusing and repurposing what I can while making my creations.
Now here I am, sharing my warped sense of humor with other like-minded weirdos. I hope you enjoy what I’ve made and be sure to check back often. You never know what I’ll be inspired by next. Stay wicked my darlings!
