Wild Solstice Jewelry is a collection of crystal and gemstone jewelry designed and hand made by me, Jodi Bye, and my team in Venice Beach and Downtown Los Angeles, California.
I personally select every unique stone in my collections with love and healing in mind. My intention is to share the beauty and energy of crystals with you.
I love to design and create jewelry using unique crystals from mother earth, which embody healing and inspiration to help you create your best life now!
Gemstones and Crystals are amazing gifts from our planet and we are so lucky to be able to adorn ourselves in divine crystal luxury.
My beginnings as a jewelry designer and maker started soon after moving to Los Angeles 16 years ago. I walked into a beautiful bead shop called Ritual Adornments in Santa Monica and I made my first bracelet.
At that time, I managed a Yoga Studio called Santa Monica Power Yoga and started selling my jewelry in the boutique/front desk area of the studio.
In 2014 the studio expanded and the owner asked me if I wanted to partner with him, where I would continue to run the front desk of the studio, and the boutique shop would become my own retail space. Of course I said yes, and that’s when Wild Solstice began!
At first I was selling what we normally sold, yoga mats, workout clothes, yoga accessories and the small amount of jewelry I made.
I soon started selling crystals in the shop, and I could feel the difference of how amazing the shop felt when we brought more crystals in.
I also noticed when placing a crystal or gemstone in the palm of my hand, I could feel the different energies of the specific stone I was holding.
I became fascinated by crystal and gemstone properties and their healing energy. This new found knowledge and interest inspired me to started making my jewelry designs all about gemstones and crystals.
I knew that a crystal is so much more powerful when its in contact with the skin, so I made my pendants and rings open on the back side whenever possible, so they would be touching the skin.
I also wanted to make jewelry that embodied good design. As an artist this matters to me. Something that was beautifully and meaningfully designed with healing, protection and good vibrations. Crystal jewelry that could be used to enhance the energy and intention of the wearer.
So I did exactly that, I started making lots of crystal jewelry, and before I knew it my jewelry was selling off the shelves.
Eventually after about a year in, what used to look like a yoga shop, now looked more like a crystal/gemstone jewelry shop with 80% of inventory now being jewelry and only 20% being yoga mats and yoga accessories.
It was a fun ride having a brick and mortar and it lasted for 5 years. In 2019 I was devastated to hear that the yoga studio was closing, which also meant my boutique shop which was linked to the studio would be closing too.
There was good news though! I was pregnant, and a month after we closed, I had my daughter in July 2019. I feel like everything unfolded in divine timing. I now sell on line and although I miss seeing my customers and friends in person, I am now able to take care of my 3 year old and also run a business from home.
One of my new found favorite things to do in the process of making jewelry is to cut, carve and polish the stones.
There are always new things on the horizon and I’m beyond thankful for your love and support and so excited to continue on this journey.
