Inspired by Nature, In love with Animals, Born to Paint
Welcome to Wild Whiskers ♡
I have always been an animal lover, and I fell in love with painting from a young age. Wild Whiskers is a celebration of these two passions.
I use watercolours and acrylics to delicately paint animals, capturing the little details that make them so special — their soft, wispy fur, tiny paws and curious round eyes. I particularly love painting the small creatures we find in the countryside around my home, from foxes and squirrels to rabbits and birds.
From painting to fabric:
I studied Textile Design at Central Saint Martins in London, where I explored many different techniques for printing and working with textiles, eventually specialising in knit.
During my studies, I became fascinated by the way my detailed animal paintings could be transformed into fabric. I discovered that printing them onto beautiful, tactile materials such as velvet could bring out the softness and character of the little creatures in a completely different way.
This became the inspiration for Wild Whiskers — taking my original artwork and turning it into beautiful, useful things to enjoy every day.
Handmade in Sussex:
I live in Lewes, East Sussex, surrounded by the beautiful English countryside, which continues to inspire much of my work.
I make my products in my little studio, from sewing and finishing fabric pieces to creating new designs and developing new crafts. I care a lot about quality and only make things that I would genuinely love to have myself.
I design my own patterns and make my products in small batches, allowing me to take care with every piece and avoid unnecessary waste. I love creating things that feel a little different — products that are practical and beautiful, but also have a little bit of personality.
Always learning, always creating:
More recently, I've started exploring other crafts including handmade candles and soaps, all created in my studio.
One of the things I love most about running Wild Whiskers is having the freedom to be creative, experiment with new materials and learn new skills. I'm always thinking about what I can paint, make or create next — and how I can bring a little more of the natural world into everyday life.
Thank you so much for visiting Wild Whiskers and for supporting my small independent business. ♡
