Welcome to Tanimara Designs! I'm a former homeschooling stay-at-home mom and the ultimate homebody! I've always loved the uniqueness and charm in handmade items, knowing that someone put a lot of themselves into making them, and I'm especially drawn to things that remind me of a simpler, less hectic time. I wanted to find a way to supplement our income due to my husband's seasonal work. I love to sew and craft, so I started by making blankets for the Christmas season several years ago. To help me get started, my wonderful husband volunteered to go door to door in our neighborhood with several blankets I'd made and sold them for me -- he not only sold them but came back with a handful of custom orders! One very sweet lady (with a large extended family!) purchased several on the spot and ordered over a dozen more, and has purchased more than three dozen since that time. I soon added other items and started selling at local craft fairs, but have decided that my Etsy shop is where I want my main business to be. My Etsy customers are great!! Absolutely the best compliment you can receive on your handmade items is repeat business . . . and to those of you who are repeat customers - THANK YOU!! - and know that I do not take that lightly.
My hope and goal is that you get as much enjoyment from the items you purchase from me as I had in making them -- or in the case of vintage items, finding them!
