I cant help but make things
I have always been creative, my mother insists on displaying my early artistic attempts, at some point I will have to accidentally break them all. I began with Air Drying Clay it seemingly got into my blood and fell in love with Ceramics at school, my art teacher said he needed a conveyor belt to keep up with me. I set up a studio with kiln that I unglamorously had to set my alarm at stupid hours of the night to go out to the studio cowering from the night spiders to the studio to poke around with the kiln for its night firings, this I was told by said mother was when I had to fire as it was the economy rate at daft o'clock. Seems I am wired to create, my late Grandma was a textile designer and there is a strong dose of Artistic ability and designers and engineers in the family. I have worked worked in Stained Glass Mosaic, Resin, Jewellery, and handmade Skincare products.
I have a BA (Hons) Degree in Three Dimensional design and am a qualified Lecturer in Art and Multimedia Design.
I have worked in various Schools and Colleges and particularly loved teaching Ceramics to less-abled adults, including blind and those with learning difficulties.
In 2005 I became a full time artist and threw a couple of kids into the mix. I work from my rather lovely home studio and am always armed with my camera when travelling for inspiration.
