My Education
I have always had art projects. Ever since I can remember, I've thought about what I can make and how I can go about doing it. When I went away to college, the most portable of my art supplies was the spool of wire and a pair of needle-nose pliers. I found that sculpting while watching Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings with a cup of tea at my side very relaxing after stressing about college. So I kept doing it. I enjoy the challenge of making a figure balance on its own with just the tiniest tweak of my pliers or learning how to give emotion or movement to my sculptures. I had to study chemistry and anatomy in addition to many other subjects, but the hours I have spent teaching myself to sculpt has been my favorite thing to learn.
While working at an art gallery, I began to sell my sculptures and really enjoyed making things that others wanted to present as gifts to their friends and family. I wanted to find a way to reach others who weren't in the little town of Blacksburg, so that is where Etsy comes in.
