Gli oggetti di uso quotidiano nella nostra vita dovrebbero farci sentire bene. Ci piace creare decorazioni per la casa e giocattoli di peluche che creano l'atmosfera che le persone in questo spazio non si prendono troppo sul serio e sono pronte a divertirsi.

Per anni io e mia madre abbiamo cucito e lavorato all'uncinetto per i nostri amici e familiari per tutto il tempo, dicevano: "Sei così talentuoso, dovresti vendere il tuo ___". Bene, eravamo finalmente disposti a permettere al nostro hobby di diventare più serio e avviare la nostra attività. Ma non volevamo che tutto il divertimento fosse risucchiato dalla nostra creazione mentre affrontavamo il lato commerciale della creazione per gli altri.

Abbiamo mantenuto il divertimento facendo cose con trame meravigliose e che ci fanno ridere. Quando abbiamo iniziato a fare cose per il negozio, erano per lo più articoli per la casa che erano funzionali ma con tocchi speciali. Ma, più faccio, più mi sembra di essere influenzato dalla mia giovane figlia adolescente. Mi spinge più verso le tendenze e verso il suo stile preferito; Kawaii.

Mentre continuo a cucire e lavorare all'uncinetto, sono sicuro che l'influenza dei miei figli continuerà a manifestarsi. Francamente, ci sono un sacco di cose là fuori per i più piccoli e sono contento che i miei figli mi stiano spingendo a fare cose che sono buone anche per i bambini più grandi! (Anche se non avrei mai immaginato che la frutta con le facce sarebbe stata una "cosa adolescenziale".)

L'altro membro del team, mia madre Mary, è incredibilmente talentuosa nelle arti delle fibre, ma dopo anni di pratica, è pronta a cucire per divertimento. Alcuni degli elementi qui sono il suo lavoro e aggiunge varietà allo stile Without Directions. E come sua figlia e collega creatrice, adoro condividere questo spazio con lei.

Everyday items in our lives should make us feel good. We like to create home décor and plush toys that create the atmosphere that the people in this space do not take themselves too seriously and are ready to have some fun.

For years my mom and I sewed and crocheted for our friends and family all the while, they would say, "you are so talented, you should sell your ___." Well, we were finally willing to allow our hobby to get more serious and start our own business. But, we did not want all the fun to be sucked out of our creating as we dealt with the business side of creating for others.

We kept the fun in by making things with wonderful textures and that make us laugh. When we first started making things for the store, they were mostly home goods that were functional but with special touches. But, the more I make, the more I seem to be influenced by my young teen daughter. She pushes me more toward the trends and towards her favorite style; Kawaii.

As I keep on sewing and crocheting, I am sure the influence of my children will continue to show through. Frankly, there are a lot of things out there for the little ones and I am glad that my kids are pushing me to make things that are good for the older kids too! (Though I would never have guessed that fruit with faces would be a 'teen thing'.)

The other member of the team, my mother Mary, is incredibly talented in the fiber arts but after years of being practical, she is ready to sew for fun. Some of the items here are her work and she adds variety to the Without Directions style. And as her daughter and fellow maker, I love sharing this space with her.
