For more than 15 years I worked as an educator specializing in alternative outdoor education and experiential hands on learning. I passionately believe students learn best when engaging in problem solving, exploring and thinking creatively. I've taught students as well as other teachers how to create engaging, meaningful and fun ways to learn and play.
When I became a mother at age 39, I took my expertise as a teacher and started creating activities for my son Beau with the help of some talented friends with cool tools! I was encouraged by my educator friends to create these items for others, so I took a leap and decided to invest in some of my own equipment and get busy turning my ideas into things! It was a steep (and at times frustrating) learning curve, but with the help of my mentors, I've come a long way and learned much. In 2023 I grew my little shop to the point where I retired from teaching and am now doing this full time.
I strive to create high value items - things which can be used for many ways to play for years of learning and fun. I pride myself in my workmanship and don't cut any corners with materials or my processes. My production partners are all friends and talented makers who share the same values. We really enjoy meeting, discussing ideas and making them come to life in our home based workshops, garages, craft rooms and over coffee at local coffee shops.
Your support of my business, supports several families as well as our kids. This means SO much to us as we are a very little "fish" in the big pond of box stores and drop shipping. We share our successes with our community and I often donate to schools, learning centers, therapy centers and educate other teachers and local parents as a way to give back.
