My name is Nicholene and I am delighted to share a golden thread of my journey with you. I am weaving the story of my grandmothers with the threads of the past, present and future. Wool and cotton come together with the magical dance of the loom. Infused with the essence of the earth and stars, plant and stone, sun and moon. Healing cloth in a trail of honeyed medicine of the earth. The whisper of the wind, shimmering luminescence of the moon, song of the trees, dance of the flower and bee.

I spend many quiet hours at the loom with the warp and weft overlooking the French Broad River, at the forest’s edge. It brings me much inspiration and joy. As the fiber moves through my hands, each little thread and stitch is carefully woven with intention, prayer and song. I like to imagine I am working in bits and pieces of the land into my work. Deep connection and belonging.

The Blue Ridge Mountains seem to radiate a magical luminescence that infuses each little flower, tree and blade of grass.

I strive to create beautiful and functional fiber goods, inspired by the flora of the Appalachian Mountains. Much of the fiber is sustainably sourced from local sheep. I hope you will enjoy my weavings and handspun yarns. Custom orders are welcome.
