High Quality Handknits & Fiber Art

Shop policies

Last updated on December 17, 2025
Hi, my name is Kirsty and I live in Otley, a small market town in Wharfedale, West Yorkshire. I have Fibromyalgia and left my office job last year to pursue a more therapeutic career. Some of you may already know my other shop www.etsy.com/shop/WharfedaleWoolworks where I sell hand painted yarns and spinning fibres that I create in my studio at the Otley Courthouse Community Arts Centre. In my new Woolworks Too shop I am selling high quality knits all of which I make myself from my own yarns from my own patterns and those of other designers who have given me permission to knit up their patterns for sale.
I have been knitting for over 30 years, dyeing yarns for 5 years and started spinning with spindles and then a wheel a couple of years ago. I only sell yarns of a high quality that I have tested myself in my own projects and garments knitted from patterns that are well tried and tested.. I have two nearly grown up kids (three if you count my husband!) two lovely, fat rescue cats, two champagne rats and various tropical and pond fish. None of the animals are allowed anywhere near my workspace.

Patterns are posted in stiff board 'do not bend' envelopes and stitch markers will be sent in organza gift bags in padded envelopes. If you are ordering items over the value of £40 I would recommend recorded delivery for which an extra charge will be made - please let me know at the time of ordering if you would like this and I will let you know how much extra this will cost..

PLEASE NOTE THAT FROM 28TH APRIL 2012 THERE WILL BE AN UNAVOIDABLE RISE IN POSTAGE COSTS DUE TO INCREASES MADE BY ROYAL MAIL

Additional policies and FAQs

The yarns I produce are painted in small batches with fibre reactive or acid dyes and there may therefore be some variation in colour. I try to use photographs that show the true colour of the yarn but please be aware that all computer monitors vary and therefore you may not see exactly what I see here!
Although I rinse all yarns until the water is clear and all garments before listing them it is advisable to wash separately for the first couple of washes. Washing and drying instructions will be sent with all garments. All garment sizes and measurements are as accurate as possible. Please measure the intended recipient where possible prior to purchase of a ready-made garment. If you are ordering a custom garment I will contact you to advise the measurements I need.
Custom orders - please add deposit to basket where applicable or open a conversation. I usually request a deposit upon order to cover the cost of yarn with the balance payable when the finished item is listed.

Longies, soakers, skirties, shorties and bloomies are all knitted under a special cottage industry license granted by Sheepy Time Knits. (For information see www.sheepytimeknits.com)

I currently have kind permission to knit up patterns from the following designers:
Woolly Wormhead
Carol Feller
Diane Soucy
Hannah Fettig
Alana Dakos
Kelly Brooker (some designs - please ask)
Please check their websites/blogs/ravelry pages to see their wonderful designs.
