Creating Unique Designs from the Word of God
I received a BA in Graphic Design in 2003 from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. While there, I learned to pay attention to detail and learned to love type and use words to convey a thought in design. I wanted to use my abilities to create designs that would be uplifting and give God glory. What better way to do this than to use Scripture verses in design?
One Christmas, I asked family members for ideas of objects or verses that I could use to create designs for them as Christmas gifts. From this, my first designs were created. Since then I've made designs as I get inspiration. Over the years, my designs have become more complex, and I challenge myself to make each one unique. One of my designs, "Mother and Child" is the result of the years I've spent caring for little ones...and is the result of countless hours of work to make the design "just so."
Early in 2021 I introduced my bird design and it quickly became my most popular design. It is a visual representation of the words of Philippians 4:6-8 “Do not be anxious…” while also alluding to the verses in Mathew that talk about God taking care of the birds.
I love being able to take words from the Word of God, and use them to create a work of art. My desire is for people to display these designs around their homes and offices and to be encouraged by the Word of God.
