Etsy is my home
Nearly 10 years ago I started Working for an Angel at the suggestion of a dear friend and fellow seller. I was a new mom with an angel of a little girl, just home from the NICU. This shop was named in her honor and celebrates my purpose.
I left a career that I loved to start a new chapter as a stay at home Mama. Etsy was an incredible opportunity- and an outlet- that allowed me to still do something that I enjoyed. It was a place to share my large collection of treasure and to connect with a wonderful community of fellow vintage lovers. It is an amazing place to buy and share handmade and vintage treasure.
Who am I?
I am a proud mother and a nurse, vintage enthusiast and lover of simple things. I love to write, treasure hunt and create things using both my hands and imagination.
I love everything vintage, not just jewelry.
I relish in supporting and uplifting others, appreciate crafts of all types and endorse kindness.
I loved vintage long before vintage was "it."
Ive always been a collector of old trinkets and jewelry and have a great appreciation for the work that goes into making these beautiful things, and making things beautiful. It is not just about the metal and gemstones to me. The techniques and process and history are so incredibly fascinating!
The finished product is a worked piece of art and a testament to the work that went into creating it. Even the most time worn and old, perfectly imperfect pieces serve as an irreplaceable piece of history.
Ive always been told by my friends and family that I have "the eye" for jewelry, even as a very young lady. Like most hobbies or talents, it just comes from lots of experience. After seeing and handling so many pieces you gain a knack for distinguishing quality. Ive read the books and articles, have taken the metalsmithing classes and have consulted with and worked alongside many, many jewelers and professionals.
But I still rely mainly on my "eye."
The find
Everything I list here was hand picked and loved by me. Every piece appeals to me for a completely different reason. I dont like to stick to one era or material or style of jewelry either- but do admit that my favorite pieces are from the Edwardian and Art Deco periods.
My inventory is small for a reason. I truly hope that you can appreciate the hand picked quality of collection.
Whats new
Etsy is no longer my only endeavor but remains a large and important part of life. It is where I feel connected and content, and I hope to remain here for years to come.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU.
I've met some of the most amazing people here and am so glad that I chose Etsy as my home.
You've made me feel so welcome and I am forever grateful!
To those of you who have cheered for me as I make my way through motherhood and worked my way through nursing school- I just cannot tell you how much I appreciate you. Many of you have been with me from the very beginning and are much more than buyers to me.
To the newcomers, I am so glad that you are here!
