Welcome to WriteItPlain!

WriteItPlain was born over many long nights. Unexpected traumatic events started a grief journey that was unimaginable and gave birth to a new way of life. Three immediate family members gone. Where to begin? Life is a journey. Grief is a journey.

Putting pen to paper. Creatively this can result in drawing, writing poems, junk journaling, or possibly writing a letter. Organizationally, it may be a resource for jotting down goals, or a source for listing and marking off a to-do list. Therapeutically, it may be used as a way to preserve memories, because not every moment is captured in a photo. Pen to paper is great for expressing, connecting, leaving stories or words of wisdom. Setting aside time to prioritize one or more of these things will always be beneficial, so why not make them enjoyable. Find a pen you enjoy holding, a paper that you love, a journal that lays out just right, and make the process enjoyable. Look forward to this time devoted to you because you deserve it. Fall in love with the process and the beauty within the pages. In a busy world, make your time count and let it be all that you love.

My story:

After many days and nights of trying to set aside intentional time to work through the brokenness that surrounded me, I was devoting one evening and the verse was Habakuk 2:2:

Then the Lord said to me, “And the LORD answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain…”

There was a revelation in this. Ensuring to keep their memories alive and the endeavor of finding joy in the lives they lived. Which led me to write the vision of this and make it plain. So the non-paper items you will find are a wide variety of things. Joyful things. Maybe they had something similar, or it is something they would have loved to have had or simply a reminder of them. There is joy in everything if you look for it.
