How We Got Here:
The first keychain I ever sold was held together with a bread twist tie.
Back in 2020, my neighbor Mrs. Thompson needed a gift for her granddaughter’s 16th birthday. “Something that won’t look cheap, but I’m on Social Security,” she said frankly. I scavenged:
A dented copper sheet in my junk drawer
A leftover ceramic cherry from a broken earring
That red twist tie from a loaf of sourdough
I charged her $4. Two weeks later, she left a note in my mailbox: “Maddie wears it to her night shift at Waffle House. Says the cherry reminds her of my pie.”
That’s when I knew:
Our shop isn’t in some trendy Brooklyn studio. My “workshop” a corner of the laundry room：
Pliers from Dollar Tree with electrical tape on the handles
Beads and charms are sorted and placed in egg boxes
Each piece of jewelry has a past life (yes, including class rings made of recyclable environmentally friendly metals)
My kids label products with secondhand sticker books. My husband drills holes in seashells from our fishing trips – half end up cracked, but the ones that survive? They’ll outlive our mortgage.Later we tried to design more shapes and materials. We believe that everyone has their own unique personality choice.I made this not only for everyone's personality, but also for you who are looking for custom works like me, and also for you who can recall a warm moment like Maddie.
We’re not artists. We’re just people who believe your car keys deserve more joy than a fluorescent plastic tag from the dealership.
