Born and raised in Tokyo, I studied design and spent years working in visual display — including projects for the Sony Building in Ginza — as well as web and graphic design.
Eventually I traded the city for the countryside of Yamanashi, where I now live surrounded by mountains and nature. Out here I stay busy with all kinds of hands-on work: carpentry, crafts, and even acupuncture.
But design never left me. With Photoshop and a deep love for Japanese aesthetics, I started ZenJapanWorks to share the beauty of wabi-sabi, brushstroke textures, and minimalist line art with the world — all designed right here in Japan.
I also have a rescue dog who needs a little extra care and patience, and family I want to be close to. This shop lets me do meaningful creative work while staying present for the ones who matter most.
