Announcement   Happy Holidays, everyone! I will be posting things throughout December, for your last-minute-gifting pleasure! Enter coupon code ZENFIVE to get $5 off when you purchase TWO pairs of armwarmers, adult or child sized!

If you would like to be notified when I post a big batch of sweaters, please send me a convo, and I will be sure to give you a shout out!

My shop has a bit of a split personality.
Sometimes it's all about recycled sweaters in kaleidoscope colors, and sometimes it's about dressing up like wizards and princesses and looking for fairies in hollowed out logs.

... sometimes all of my creative worlds collide, and that is when I'm truly happy.

:-)

I make things that make me happy. Sometimes, creations take on a life of their own, and become things had I not imagined, and that makes me happy, too.

I design and create each piece in my Etsy shop in my home. Very many thanks to those who inspire my creations, including my daughter (great lover of all things faerie-related) and Katwise, the greatest and bestest original recycled sweater goddess on Etsy.

Please feel free to shoot me a convo with any questions you might have. Or you can email me at zenwench [!at] yahoo.com. Thanks for looking!

Love these. They are warm and comfy. I have three pairs so far. I like the cashmere, as wool can be itchy.

About

Finding Harmony Through Handicraft

I learned how to sew in high school, when my drama club/choir teacher invited me to work with her in her growing costuming business. She taught me so much about fabric, patterns, sewing techniques and business in general.

The truth is, though, that I have been sewing since I was seven or eight. My mom still has that ugly dolly made out of socks and yarn. She refuses to give it up, because saw immediately upon receiving it how much love and painstaking effort had been stitched in.

Though my life since high school (and certainly since that lumpy doll) has led me down many different roads-college, a stalled teaching career, motherhood-I have always found time and space to make things. Now that I have my own children who proudly present me with their creations, I really understand how priceless a handmade treasure can be.

Nothing rivals the gift of something unique from someone else's hands to your own. I still have so much love to pour into crafting and creating...and I hope I always do.

I am currently in craft-love with recycled sweaters and fibers. I am continually inspired by others here on Etsy-Katwise and Amber Studios to name a few, whose art has inspired me to delve into this kind of fiber crafting.

I am currently working on balancing my traveling shop at craft shows and my shop here at Etsy, which is an ever-evolving process!

Welcome to my shop!

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
I prefer Paypal or payment by credit card through Etsy, but I will also take a personal check by mail. In that event, I will hold the item in question so that it may not be sold to another customer, and send it to you after the check has cleared.
Shipping
I usually ship ready-made items same or next day, via the United States Postal Service, first class or standard shipping (2-5 and 2-8 business days, respectively). If the shipping cost of priority is close to the standard shipping cost, I will usually choose priority. If this is not the case, and you wish to purchase priority shipping, please let me know!

Custom orders will completed and shipped between a week and ten days after payment is made (sometimes sooner, depending on my workload, Holiday schedule, and whatnot) .

I have had great success with international shipping. However, I cannot provide tracking numbers or promise timeframes, as the United States Postal Service does not provide these things. If you wish to buy from outside the U.S., and have a request for a different shipping method, (UPS or similar) I would be glad to accomodate!

I have had great success with the USPS, but please be aware that I do not assume responsibility for lost packages. If you wish to purchase insurance, please let me know!
Refunds and Exchanges
I take great care to photograph and describe each item accurately. I will gladly exchange or fix an item, if for some reason it arrives in sub-par condition (for example, if I forgot to sew on a button due to late-night project finishing, and shipped it out that way). (Hasn't happened yet, but I'm not ruling anything out. Hey. I'm pretty awesome, but no one is perfect.)

Just shoot me a convo to notify me of the issue, and ship it back within 7 days of your receiving the item.

I want you to be happy with your purchase! However, I cannot accept returns on custom orders. If at all possible, I will exchange an item if it simply does not fit. Please be aware, however, that specific fabrics are not always available, and I may not be able to replace your item with an exact copy. Also be aware that I must treat an exchange for fit purposes as a new custom order, which involves the same timeframe as above. I may agree to accept a return for "store credit" on a ready-to-ship item, depending on the circumstances. I absolutely will not accept returns or exchanges if you do not let me know that you wish to do so within a week of your receiving the item.
