Creative, a little unfocused

When I was a kid I made Barbie clothes and pawed through my Mom's button box for that perfect button to make her a hat (Barbie, not my Mom). It kind of all went crazier from there. I always knew if there was something I wanted, I could make it!

My first love is fiber, followed closely by glass. I've been sewing and knitting since childhood. A weaver, spinner, art quilter and dyer since the 80's. I discovered glass and love how it contrasts with fiber. Pulling glass from the flame or a kiln is as much of an adventure as pulling yarn or fabric from a dye pot. Awesome!

I am a maker through and through. I dabble in a variety of mediums: hot glass, dyeing, surface design, knitting, weaving, sewing, art quilting, jewelry making, mixed media art, spinning... shall I go on? The point is ... OK, so I don't know what the point is, unless it's a lack of focus.

I make things I want to have and things I want to give the people in my life that I care about. I want to use it, give it - but let's face it, I only have so many relatives and friends and one country house (even with several studios) can only hold so much. Hence, Etsy.

Oh, and I'm also a little button mad. To see my fused glass buttons, visit my other Etsy Shop at

Oh! And I'm an avid knitter who occasionally teaches sock knitting and writes the odd pattern now and then - you can find me on Ravelry at

I'll post more photos as I get them taken - photography is kind of my Achilles heel :-0

Returns and exchange details
Returns are Cheerfully allowed for a defect in workmanship, if we ship the wrong item, if you feel an item is not as it was represented to be in our Etsy Shop, or if you just truly hate it. We will work with you to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

Please make sure your color choices are what you want and the item is truly to your liking before ordering. Shipping is only refundable if there is an item defect, shipping of wrong item, or mis-representation of item.

Every effort will be made to pack items carefully. Should an item be damaged in shipping contact me immediately, we will work together with the Post Office for resolution. If the order is insured, this will be easier and I will help all I can from my end. Upon resolution, I will replace it with a similar item in type and cost. Be aware that many of my hand made items are "one of a kind" and cannot be duplicated. On the up side; in the seven years I had an online business (Scarlet Zebra Fiber Art Supplies), I NEVER had a package damaged or lost in the mail. Knock on wood. :o)
All payments go through Etsy Direct Checkout (including PayPal).
Exceedingly easy and secure, Etsy Direct Checkout is built-in to your Etsy account.
Have a PayPal account you want to use? You will be given that option during checkout. Also, I (or any other merchant) will never have access to your credit card information or number, keeping you safe.
Free to the buyer, any fees charged for transactions are paid by the seller (except if paying in a non USA currency, there is a small conversion fee paid by the buyer).
Non USA buyers are responsible for all Customs & Duty fees.
All items listed in my shop are made and ready to ship. Shipping and order processing takes 1 to 3 days, depending on my day-job schedule, or if it falls on a weekend. Orders received Friday, Saturday or Sunday will usually ship on Monday (as long as it's not a US holiday).

For special orders/requests please contact me through Etsy or visit my web site at

Shipping costs on my listings are an educated guess. Orders of multiple items will be combined for shipping when possible and charged accordingly, this usually works out cheaper for the buyer and I like to keep both our costs as low as possible. Since you have already paid for your order, you will be refunded any shipping charges that exceed $1.50 over actual shipping costs.
Shipping is US Priority Mail. It allows me to track the package and the delivery times are reliably quick (especially in the case of International orders). Packages also have a much better chance of actually arriving at their destination. All orders that total over $50.00 (US) before adding tax or shipping will be insured for both of our protection. International shipping is calculated at a guess, you can message/e-mail for a more precise quote. Nothing will be shipped until payment s are received.

Some small, inexpensive items will be shipped by first class mail and you should see those prices reflected in the shipping cost for those items. Please let me know in the notes section of the checkout page if you prefer Priority or Express Mail instead.
I will ship to all US holdings as well as Canada, Ireland, Great Britain, Australia, and New Zealand. Other locations will be considered on an individual basis.
