This starter arrived as promised and on time! It’s from Alaska and I’m in Florida! how cool is that? gonna get it started today!

My first ever sourdough loaf was a success thanks to this great starter! Trusty Dusty did not disappoint! I’ve named his/her offspring Denali Molly and she’s thriving! As another reviewer said, it was important to me to have a genuine Alaskan starter because I love Alaska! While the shipping time felt a bit long (mostly because I was excited to get started on my new sourdough journey), I get it. It came from Alaska. My boys live there, so I already expected slow shipping time. I tried my hand at regular artisan bread a while ago and couldn’t get a loaf to turn out to save my life. Thank you Dusty and AbbasAcres!

Sourdough started right up and is very happy!

I purchased the Alaskan Sourdough as a gift for my mother who now lives out-of-state. She accidentally killed off her original Alaskan sourdough start and was devastated. I searched Etsy shops and landed on this authentic Alaskan shop. It was important to buy from an actual fellow Alaskan to make sure my mother’s bread would be exactly what she desired. Several Etsy shops have Alaskan sourdough starters listed but they are not located in Alaska. If you want authentic product you must buy from someone who actually lives and breathes Alaska. The communication with seller was excellent and prompt. Shipping preparation process was quick and the package arrived early. I highly recommend this seller.
