Hello all! My name is Jovita Sermuksne, and I come from a tiny town in the middle of beautiful Lithuania. As far as I remember, nature has always had a special place in my heart. Even my last name (literally) means rowan, so I guess I am bound to love the natural world. And I will tell you a secret - spring is my favorite season because it is the time of awakening, blooming, and evidence of life.
By profession, I am a furniture designer (and I have been working in the industry for about ten years), by calling - I am a textile artisan. Since I was a child, I was so into sewing, knitting, and all other crafty things. My best teachers were my grandma and my aunt. Both of my grandmas were weavers, and they mostly worked with linen. I loved watching them weaving, and although they hadn't got the time to teach me before their passing away, they for sure taught me to love linen. Till now, I have my favorite pillowcase of non-dyed linen and some tablecloths given by grandmas!
The beginning of Alabatis
Some years ago, I quit my full-time job and focused on creative work. In 2015, I opened an Etsy shop, where I started sharing my hand-made linen quilts and naturally dyed textile products. In 2017, my production had already included all other sorts of linen items. Since then, the assortment has gotten only wider, and now at Alabatis you can a collection of ecological fabrics and products
Why Linen?
Linen is natural, breathable, light, long-lasting, and, oh my, I could continue all day! The material is easy-care, eco-friendly, antibacterial, and practical: it keeps you warm during cold winter evenings and cools you on a hot summer day. Linen cloth is very absorbent too!
What is ALABATIS?
Are you curious about what Alabatis means? Alabatis is the name of the Lithuanian mythological goddess of Flax!

The seller put a hanging loop in a custom location for me, so that I can hang my bath mat right there on my shower glass next to my shower door. So happy! Thank you!

How to care about our items?
We will include the care instructions with the items you will purchase.
There is a short instruction:
- Hand or machine wash (gentle cycle) in 30-degree water.
- Do not bleach.
-Hang to dry or in a drier gently.
-Iron on reverse if desired.
Do we accept custom orders?
Yes, please! We are always happy to make something only for you, so do not hesitate to contact us about custom orders. Custom orders can take longer than standard orders, please ask and we will give you a price and time range when your order can be fulfilled. We start work on the order only when it is fully paid.
You will receive a link to your custom listing with all agreed details and pricing in it.
How long take to produce the items?
All order items will be made and shipped in 3-14 days. In the Holiday season making custom orders can take longer.
Additional shipping information
Your item will be shipped by standard Lithuanian mail with a TRACKING NUMBER. Delivery time depends on the location. Please keep in mind the parcels may be delayed!!
For an additional price, we can offer express shipping. Delivery time will take 3-10 business days (delivery time depends on the location) after the order will be completed. If you choose EXPRESS SHIPPING, please write your phone number in the notes so the courier can contact you when the parcel arrives.
Do we accept returns?
If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may return it to us. Please contact us before returning.
The items can be returned within fourteen (14) days of the purchase date. All returned items must be in new and unused condition.
Please note, that you will be responsible for all return shipping charges.
After receiving your return and inspecting the condition of your item, we will process your return (the refund will be made for the items only).
