Alder and Finch was born during the pandemic the same time my first son was born. During an isolating time and struggling with postpartum depression, I started painting again. I created the Etsy shop to give me a purpose outside of being a healing mother. While laying on the floor with my son doing tummy time, I watched a small yellow and black finch among the alder branches through the living room windows and that’s how the business was named. I started with digital downloads and have expanded into art prints and selling my original watercolors. I love the fluidity of watercolor and how it can be mixed with other mediums. I’m inspired by my beautiful surroundings of the Pacific Northwest West in the US and am based in a small town outside of Seattle, WA somewhere in the woods.
