Greetings! I’m Anne, and I like to share the things I make.
Right now I’m focused mostly on drawing (and making stickers and prints and things out of those drawings). I also design knitting patterns, though tendonitis and carpel tunnel have made knitting less of an everyday activity for me recently.
AnneArchy was originally a nickname and I thought it made sense to use when I started my small business. It has my name, is sort of punny, and nods to my punk rock ethic.
I dream of a day when humanity isn’t stuck in the current capitalist, colonialist (and so forth) hellscape, when we all take good care of each other and no individual has much more power than anyone else. I approach selling things with some trepidation: I've had very little experience in the world of business and I disagree philosophically with a lot of what I do know about it. To that end, I'm striving to go about this with an attitude of abundance and celebration of making art, while also hopefully, eventually, being able to support my family through art.
Every month, I give a portion of my proceeds to people and causes fighting injustice and oppression. Right now a couple of my favorites are We Here and Detroit Hoodstead (not a complete list).
I live in Michigan with my spouse and our rescued Boston Terrier Coraline, and enjoy gardening, reading, sewing, and having too many hobbies.
