Thank you for visiting my shop! My name is Diana and I am the creative hands and heart behind Appalachia Angel Studios. I’ve always created throughout my life and love exploring new crafts.
Growing up, I learned how to sew at a young age and then fell in love with embroidery. I started to play with threads by embellishing upcycled clothing and began experimenting with embroidery so much that I got my own industrial Brother 6 needle embroidery machine. For the past few years, I’ve been cultivating an embroidery/crafting studio to further my dreams of owning my own shop. My studio is located in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina where I have the creative freedom to sew, embroider, paint, draw and create whatever my little heart desires.
Having a deep connection with the natural world of the greater Appalachia region, I find a lot of my inspiration derives from local fauna, mushrooms, creatures and folklore. Many of my creations begin with a dream or an idea inspired by the natural world combining ethereal magic. I enjoy learning other crafting hobbies including embroidery, quilting, drawing, painting, laser engraving, mixed media, collaging and needle felting. Some of my other hobbies include playing piano, ukulele, hiking, backpacking, making music and gardening.
I’ve always used creating as a healing outlet and a way to connect with the collective conscious as a whole. It is an honor to share some of my creations with you, and thank you for being here! :)
