My jewellery, the Archerade way
To sum up: I am a goldsmith, and have been for the past 10ish years. That doesn't include the 3 years I spent studying the craft at George Brown College. Take my word for it - jewellery school is a lot more work and stress than you think! Don't worry though, it's well worth it.
Currently, all the jewellery magic happens in my lovely studio, in the west end of Toronto. This magic starts from the first whispers of inspiration, and doesn't rest until the piece is finished. The majority of my pieces are carved in wax, and then cast into either sterling silver or gold, and now sometimes bronze. I take great care to use recycled materials whenever possible, and I use environmentally friendly materials and practices in my studio.
Being a designer and a goldsmith (and sole employee!) is very hands-on work. From the initial sketch, to the carving, casting, and polishing, I am pretty much the only person who touches the pieces. This is a one-woman show here, you guys!
I really do love my work, to an almost obsessive-but-hopefully-still-healthy degree. I hope to pass this love and passion along to you, perfectly captured in pieces that you will treasure for a lifetime.
