Of the Heart
I grew up in a household where making art was part of my upbringing since my mother was an artist. Because of her work, I learned that everyday people could make art. So I began as a child drawing and painting.
And I've continued all my life working in different media--painting, drawing, printmaking and fibre arts. Looking back, and, indeed, up to the present I believe creating art has helped sustain my spirit. I like to work as spontaneously as possible in much of my work. This allows me to experiment and keeps me engaged. However, when I've done work that requires a lot of planning--for example, in the card decks I've made--I like to bring in elements of spontaneity to keep the work lively.
I opened Arts of May on Etsy to show some of the work I've done to an audience beyond borders. I'm always happy to receive your comments or questions and I thank you for your interest.
