My Etsy story
Growing up with a passion for crafting, I have always observed handcrafted things closely and admired the idea and skill behind every creation. Now, with my daughters also showing their interest in crafting, I have decided to devote some time to this passion and delve into the world of creativity. I study the materials around me and often come up with innovative ways of making beautiful creations. My work is inspired by nature, art and any object of beauty.
When my daughters started crafting, they surfed the net to get ideas and they found so much on Etsy that they insisted on opening a shop. It was on their insistence that I opened this shop. Since then we have learnt to make many more things and are trying to perfect our crafts, photography etc. RMS are the initials of me and my two daughters. My own name is Roohi.
Crafting has always been fun. Purchasing colorful beads, putting them together in well thought of combinations and producing a beautiful ornament that will give joy to someone is something that brings a moment of pride and satisfaction in one's life. I discovered polymer clay when I was decorating a mug for making a gift. I wanted to put a pink rose on it , so I experimented with polymer clay. Since then I have enjoyed making roses and molding this wonderful material in endless shapes and colors. My daughters enjoy working with paper.
Professionally, I am a high school teacher. I live in Karachi, just near the shores of the Arabian sea, in Pakistan, a country with beautiful landscapes, high mountains, vast plains and raging deserts.
I enjoy sharing ideas and admiring the work of other artisans. Knowing that our creations are being seen by people and can be a prized possession of someone across the globe is, in itself, a thrill that goes a step beyond financial benefits. Etsy is a wonderful place- where creativity flows beyond borders and unites everyone with the bond of love and passion.
