About

Leslie Astor loves to make stuff.

I started my shop in 2010, after a neighbor invited me to participate in a local craft fair. Though I called myself an artist, I didn't have anything available to sell. So I started decorating blank tote bags. They quickly began to design themselves, and soon I had enough of them to start selling on Etsy. Today, I've narrowed my focus to knitting related bags and accessories, but I also spend time doing all sorts of other crafting, from sewing to soap making to printmaking to embroidery. Wherever possible, I try to rope my three sons into crafting with me. I teach crafting workshops in and around the Cotswolds. Find out more at www.leslieastorhandmade.com

I’m Leslie Astor, and I thank you for visiting my shop. I currently partner with a local (British) company called Made by Talented to print my totes; my project knitting bags and knitting needle cases are printed/sewn by me in my studio. I strive to create work that is environmentally sustainable. I print with water-based inks and only partner with producers who use sustainably grown cotton and work in fair trade, fair wage alliances. If you have any questions about any of my practices, please feel free to contact me for more detailed information.

Payment
I accept PayPal or personal check in addition to direct checkout orders. Orders paid by check will not ship until the check has cleared. Customers will be responsible for any bank fees associated with returned checks (but I know you'd never send me a bad check so I'm not worried about that).
Thanks!
Shipping
SHIPPING METHOD: Items typically ship within 48 hours of order. I ship first class via Royal Mail within the UK. Overseas items ship via standard airmail unless otherwise requested.

****Signed for or tracking options are not included with either domestic or international orders unless requested. Please indicate via convo prior to ordering if you wish to add this service at an additional fee.

****Note that for international orders, the additional cost for express/tracked shipping is often higher than the cost of the item itself!

Please note that if you pay through Paypal, your Paypal address will be used as your mailing address. If you would like the item sent to another address or to someone as a gift, be sure to indicate that in the "message to seller" section upon checkout.

GIFT ORDERS: I will gladly enclose a personalized gift card at no charge; please indicate at checkout in "Notes to Seller" if you wish to do this.

DELIVERY TIMES: Orders to the U.S. are given an estimated shipping time of 5-7 business days; often orders can take between 2-3 weeks to get to America. International customers are responsible for any additional customs charges that may be associated with delivery, such as custom charges. Orders within the UK should arrive within 48 hours, orders within the EU usually take about one week.

Finally, I regret that I am no longer able to offer shipping to Mexico, as several attempts to ship there did not reach my customers. I regret that inconvenience.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be happy with your order so please contact me immediately upon receipt of your item(s) if you are not totally satisfied. I will provide refunds on items provided they are returned unused in the condition in which they were shipped. Returns must be made within two weeks; the buyer is responsible for the cost of return shipping.
Additional policies and FAQs
