This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services through Etsy.com or its related sites and services.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including Etsy or any third-party services you access through Etsy. You can reference the Etsy Privacy Policy to learn more about its privacy practices.

1. Information I Collect

To fulfill your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorized Etsy to provide to me), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the item that you’re ordering.
You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for example, custom text for a handwritten envelope or place card) if you contact me directly.

2. Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It

I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:

To provide my services, such as fulfilling your order, settling disputes, or providing customer support.

When you have given consent, such as joining my email list (you may revoke this consent at any time).

To comply with a legal obligation or court order, such as retaining purchase information for tax purposes.

For legitimate business interests, if these are not overridden by your rights or interests—for example, improving my services and ensuring order accuracy.

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

Etsy: I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you with my services and to comply with my obligations under the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.

Service Providers: I may use trusted third parties, such as shipping and delivery companies, to help fulfill your orders. I share only the information necessary for these services.

Compliance with Laws: I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to:
(a) respond to legal process or government requests;
(b) enforce my agreements, terms, and policies;
(c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud, security, or technical issues; or
(d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers or others.

4. Data Retention

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in this policy.
However, I may also need to retain this information to comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
I generally keep your data for up to 4 years.

5. Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU

I am based in the United States and may store and process your information through third-party services (such as Etsy, Google Workspace, or email providers) in the U.S. or other jurisdictions.
These countries may have different data protection and government surveillance laws than your own.
When transferring personal information from the EU, I rely on contractual necessity and Privacy Shield–certified providers to ensure your data is protected.

6. Your Rights

If you reside in certain territories (including the EU), you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information:

Access: You can request a copy of the personal information I hold about you.

Change, Restrict, Delete: You may request to correct, limit, or delete your information. (I will delete personal data unless required to retain it for legal reasons.)

Object: You may object to my processing of your data based on legitimate interests or unsubscribe from marketing messages at any time.

Complain: If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern, you may contact your local data protection authority.

7. How to Contact Me

For purposes of EU data protection law, I, Audrey Clark (Audrey Writes Pretty), am the data controller of your personal information.
