It was a dream of mine to move to Italy and live as a local Italian. Six months of prep time allowed me to come up with a plan to live my dream. And so I did. I moved to Italy. I made newfound friendships, learned a new language, found a love for tomatoes and delicious food, thoroughly enjoyed life, and appreciated every waking moment along the way.

I photographed. I journaled. Blogged. Traveled. And, sent at least four postcards at every destination.

I fell in love with this place and I wasn't ready to say good-bye. In my head, leaving meant my dream was over and it made me so sad to leave this inspiring place. I made certain to stay until the very last day possible. And, the week I made it back to the US, I decided to have an opening to share these special moments with my family and friends.

I had large beautiful canvases printed and included my personal story to the right of each canvas. You see, now my moments were captured so I could never forget these intricate details through my stories and photographs.

Nearly half of my prints sold that night and this show marks one of my proudest moments to date. I did it. I made my dream come true. And, that day – I was not only able to share my travels, but I felt like I was able to take my favorite people in my life with me on my journey.

A couple of years later – after a trip to China and Europe – I decided to create all of these moments as affordable photographic prints. Still as beautiful as the canvas, these smaller pieces of art are printed on archival linen photographic paper that can also be re-purposed as a blank-inside note card - allowing people to create their own moments and save in a frame or even share with others for that special occasion.
