Hello, I’m Zach, and this is my shop, Automotiveopeners!

I’m currently employed as CNC programmer in Southern California, and enrolled as a full time student earning my degree in Manufacturing Technology.

As part of my studies, I’ve focused on both computer-aided design, computer aided manufacturing, as well as setting up, and operating a wide variety of manufacturing machines.

Meanwhile, I’ve enthusiastically worked on my small fleet of vehicles I’ve collected over the past couple of years. I’ve restored and converted a 1976 cb750 into a cafe racer. Ive purchased a 2014 Subaru brz and continue to modify and track it as much as my small budget will allow. And most recently, I’m in the middle of restoring my Grandpa’s 1980 Volkswagen vanagon Westfalia.

After long days at work, School and tooling around in the garage I like to enjoy a nice cold adult soda 😉. Of course I would never have a bottle opener on hand and would have to use a screw driver or other random objects to pry open the lid, and this got me thinking. I love cars, I love making things, and I love beer, so why not combine them all?

Using my knowledge learned through my trade, as well as knowledge learned in my degree program, I came up with a Westfalia shaped bottle opener. Wanting to have one for myself and for friends and family I made a small batch. This small batch quickly ran out out and I was immediately petitioned to make bottle openers of their cars......

Flash forward to today, with dozens of designs, dozens more on the way, and a couple hundred random internet strangers that thought my designs are worth something! How cool is that!?!
