Welcome to Backyard Threads!

How Backyard Threads began….

Backyard Threads was a business that blossomed with my experience with HandinPaw in Birmingham, AL. By volunteering with them, I have had the joy of serving with my dog Sally as a therapy team in local schools and hospitals for therapy sessions to visit friends with special needs. I began creating the “uniforms” (collars and scarves) and “activity vests” for our therapy animals in HandinPaw 10 years ago and although Sally is retired, we still enjoy donating a portion of our sales to creating these special uniforms for this great organization.

I started selling personalized versions of my creations on Etsy back in 2013 and it has blossomed into more than I could ever imagine. I’ve been able to make personalized pillows, collars, bandanas, and doggie bag holders for customers all over the world and have enjoyed every minute of it.

In the summer of 2019 my family made a big move from Birmingham, Alabama to Vancouver, BC Canada. This is an exciting new adventure for us! I can't wait to see how my shop evolves with this experience.

Jack crossed the rainbow bridge January 2023. It has been heartbreaking for me to lose my right hand man. His spirit will be with me for sure in everything I create.

Sally crossed the rainbow bridge sadly fall 2021. It was one of the saddest days of my life. Her memory still continues to inspire me every day to create special things in her memory.
