Born to be creative
Como muchos creativos, he sido creativo toda mi vida. Es lo que hago. Es en lo que soy bueno. Y así, lo acepto por completo.
Mi primer trabajo fue en una tienda de segunda mano local muy genial, donde creció mi amor por las cosas viejas.
Mi segundo trabajo fue en una tienda de artesanías, donde mi amor por las artesanías creció.
Y mi tercer trabajo fue en una tienda de abalorios, donde mi amor por las cuentas se salió completamente de control.
Estos no fueron accidentes, elegí estos trabajos para mí porque tenía un cariño por ellos.
Pero, siempre quise trabajar para mí mismo. No quería responder a nadie (¿quién lo hace?) y quería hacer algo que me gustara.
Y así lo hice. Sin embargo, tengo que responderme a mí mismo y algunos días eso es más difícil.
Me encanta lo que puedo hacer todos los días y que puedo hacerlo desde mi propio espacio. Soy muy afortunado y muy agradecido.
Cuando me mudé a Irlanda hace 14 años, necesitaba algo que hacer. No traje conmigo ninguno de mis materiales o herramientas favoritas de los estados porque era mucho y eso parecía ridículo.
Pero entonces, encontré Etsy.
Y fue lo mejor que se pudo encontrar. Inmediatamente traje todos mis suministros y el resto, como dicen, es historia.
Me encanta pertenecer a una comunidad de personas como yo. Me traen hasta aquí. Y los entiendo.
He conocido a algunas de las personas más increíbles aquí, incluidos muchos clientes que son bastante creativos.
Estoy agradecido a todos ellos.

Like many creatives, I have been creative all my life. It's what I do. It's what I'm good at. And so, I embrace it completely.
My first job was at a very cool local thrift store, where my love of old things grew.
My second job was at a craft store, where my love of crafts grew.
And my third job was at a bead store, where my love of beads got completely out of control.
These were not accidents, I chose these jobs for myself because I had a fondness for them.
But, I always wanted to work for myself. I didn't want to answer to anyone (who does?) and I wanted to do something that I enjoy.
And so I did. Though, I do have to answer to myself and some days that is harder.
I absolutely love what I get to do every day and that I get to do it from my own space. I am very lucky and very grateful.
When I moved to Ireland 14 years ago, I needed something to do. I did not bring any of my favoured materials or tools with me from the states because it was a lot and that seemed ridiculous.
But then, I found Etsy.
And it was the best thing to find. I immediately brought all my supplies over and the rest, as they say, is history.
I love belonging to a community of people just like myself. They get me here. And I get them.
I have met some of the most amazing people here, including many customers who are quite creative themselves.
I am grateful to all of them.
