Shop Story
My journey as a photographer began years ago at brand marketing events that I organized and photographed early in my career. From there, I photographed candid moments at family events. And while pursuing a degree in journalism, I studied photojournalism, videography, and editing.
While I know how to professionally edit photos, and sometimes do, my style is more SOOC (straight-out-of-the-camera) and minimally edited. Not because I consider myself a photography purist, it's just how my style developed over time. So, unless it's obvious that an image has been edited to include cool lighting, features, or color effects, the majority of my photos are minimally edited to enhance lighting, change the aspect ratio, or flip from color to black-and-white. And some photos are not edited at all.
My photos are original and feature things that catch my eye during my everyday excursions and travels like a beautiful river sunset, colorful layers of peeling paint, interesting architectural features on an otherwise boring building, the melancholy of an abandoned home, wildflowers in the field where I walk my dog, etc. I have varied interests, and my photography reflects these interests. Although, I'm most drawn to nature photography because nature brings me a profound sense of peace and stillness in a busy world.
I use professional equipment, and infrequently I shoot with film. But TBH, many of my photos are high-definition photos shot on my iPhone Pro because that's what I had on hand. Regardless of which camera I use, before listing a photo in my shop, I inspect it to ensure high-resolution and quality. And I only list what I personally would (and often do) display in my own home.
I've partnered with professionals for framing and printing. But the customer service and digital content, I manage myself. So, when you're interacting with my shop. You're personally interacting with me.
Thank you for visiting. I appreciate you and hope that my work brings you joy. If you have any questions, please reach out. I'm happy to answer.
Take care,
Amanda
