Future Sculpture
I started to design for 3D printing in the mid-90's, when I realized that traditional sculpture methods would never do what I want. It was a silly way to work for a long, long time, but slowly the technology has advanced, and eventually everything worked out. Today's prints are true craft-quality artifacts, made of steel and precious metals, in shapes that are simply impossible to make by any other means.
Here are some of my designs from the history to the present of this amazing technology. I make sculpture, jewelry and housewares; some of these are pure geometry and some are hand drawn. Most are somewhere between, in the wide wandering between math and art.
I apologize for the vague description of the company that does my steel printing - we're old friends and they like to keep a low profile. They're the same people who do all of the steel materials for Shapeways. (I introduced them.)
This store is a new venture for me, and I'll be adding more items week by week.
