Gorgeous prints! The paper they're printed on is so nice, it feels homemade. I'm in love with the gold oak leaf printed on blue paper. It's very pretty. The seller is really nice too and was extremely helpful

About Me: A lot of words describing How I Began Doing What I Do

Carinne James’s interest in art began with Grandpa Barrett painting in his studio, and Grandpa Atkinson in his print shop. Her artistic leanings continued through high school and after graduating. Linocut came to her while volunteering as an art docent at her kids’ school in Seattle. A single class in printmaking sparked a love of drawing, carving, inking and pressing.

Carinne enjoys the meditative process of creating a print: conceiving and planning an image, the gouge through linoleum, pulling the paper from the block. She enjoys the connection to the linoleum as she carves, and the connection to the subject in the process.

Carinne draws inspiration from her life – her travels across the country, raising her kids and nostalgia of her childhood. Her images capture these experiences, from her son blowing on a dandelion to nature in states she’s lived to images from hospital visits. While these images are deeply personal to her, they build on common connections in the human experience.
