I'm a mixed media fiber artist and teacher.
My art is about Jesus' love, light, beauty, prayer, color, reflections and expressions of faith, hope and joy. God's design; sky, water, flowers, and stories all inspire me. I've always thought of my style of art as abstract impressionism. Brush marks with paint in my sketchbook translate into stitches in my work with threads.
Linen and silk threads, handmade paper and watercolors are my favorite media to work with, often combined in one piece. My fiber art often begins with watercolor sketches which is how I began creating handmade concertina sketchbooks. I make one each month for my daily painting and journaling and began giving them as gifts so decided maybe others would also enjoy them!
My tapestries are woven with linen and silk threads dyed with botanical dyes I make from flowers, plants I grow or extracts or dried flowers and plants from trusted organic sources.
