About

Out of the thrift store and made into something new!

It all started with one of my beloved concert tshirts getting bleach-stained. I couldn't part with it so I kept the shirt for years. Then, one day I busted out my scissors and the sewing machine and got to work on my first upcycled purse.

I started bohoECO in 2011 to go along with my blog, http://www.bohoeco.com. So if you're interested in one of my upcycled purses, be sure to visit the blog for more "before, during, and after" pics.

As far as the purses, I try to use as much upcycled material as possible. This can be a challenge sometimes, as some of the fabrics (such as knits like tshirt material) are pretty tough to work with. But that's also part of the fun and creative aspect of using one of a kind materials. I really have to get to know a thrift store find and do some planning before chopping into it with scissors.

So that's the bohoECO story! Hope you enjoy browsing my listings and please, if you have an old concert (or any) shirt or fabric item that you'd like to have made into something you can use again, contact me about a custom order!

If you've got an old shirt, tea towel, scarf, pillowcase or any other fabric item that you no longer use or wear, but you just can't part with it, here's an idea. Send me a message with what you've got and maybe I can turn it into something you can use again!
