Information and care for blacksmith made items: The pieces that I make are made from mild steel, heated and reshaped into the design I'm trying to attain with hammer and anvil. Each piece is made by my hand and so each with have it's own characteristics and differences. I strive for uniformity but some differences can't be helped.

When it comes to caring for these items long term I've coated these items in sunflower oil while still hot and then baked them in my oven to set the coat. If they ever start to rust you can treat it exactly like cast iron skillets, clean then coat in vegetable or mineral oil and put in the oven.

I truly hope you enjoy your purchase as much as I enjoyed making it.
