Announcement
Welcome to my vision of Ukiyo-e, the Floating World, inhabited by (mostly) cats. Love of felines and all things Japanese -- 'japonisme' in French -- combine in my whimsical world. I hope you'll collect a few to hang around your home and bring smiles all around. Call or text debi lee @ 510.325.3552 with any questions.

5 out of 5 starswhat a wonderful print! Cats dancing in the snow! I've seen cats do some quick stepping through snow, then shake their paws when inside. Excellent quality print, quick shipping, great seller. Exceptional artist!!!

5 out of 5 starsThis is an excellent piece of art! Well done, sturdy and easy to hang, and a must for lovers of Japan and cats. Very imaginative art work without being weird. I would love buy every piece they have, particularly the cat standing at the window watching the rain (as my cats do), two cats dancing in the snow, and the mother cat playing with her kitten by holding it up in the air.

Ukiyo-e Revisted: Cat Tales
I am an international award-winning artist and designer with a powerful influence based on the Ukiyo-e masters of Japan. It's always been there and crept into all phases of my work throughout my lifetime.
In the 1990s I had a life-changing injury that led me to simplify many aspects of my life. As I could no longer paint, I turned to the new media of digital art and design. While I took to it readily, it was many years before I regained my true creative voice.
I found it in my love of Japanese masters, their content snd composition, and their unique approach to pattern and color. And cats! My admiration for our feline companions has appeared in my artwork from the beginning, and now they take center stage.
Categories/Series:
Cat Tales: Unintended Consequences
This growing series includes scenes in which there is a surprising elemental in otherwise ordinary circumstances.
Cat Tales: Animal Rescue
This series depicts stressful situations alleviated by a helping hand.
Cat Tales: It's A Cat's Life
A day in the life of various cats in old Edo.
Cat Tales: Nine Lives (The Wait)
Subtitled 'If it takes forever I will wait for you', this sub-series consists of nine pieces. While the world goes on, we often seem to be waiting for life, for love, success, happiness to come to us. I used to tell my friend Russ who sat cooped up at home composing brilliant music that opportunity would not come knocking, that he had to go out and make it happen. He was heavily on my mind when I created these images. It is also an homage to my Intrigo, who lived a very lucky life for 21 years.
Cat Tales: Samurai Gardeners
Samurai Gardeners represent my love of gardening and my losing battle against those terrifying garden monsters: caterpillars, moths, snails, snakes and of course, weeds.
I am pleased and proud to share my work with you!
