Collector and Craftsperson
Growing up, our family would pile in the station wagon, my father at the helm, and take day trips to Vermont. We would stop at tag sales and adorable stores and I would pick up a token here and there. Some of my early collections where miniature Wheaton bottles and vintage wood shoe forms. Years later some of the items are still with me as they remind me of the wonderful times being with my family.
After my husband and I were married, we moved to his family’s quaint apple farm. I fell in love all over again – I was discovering new old treasures that were scattered throughout the property, from mason jars in the dirt cellar to old apple crates and baskets in the barn.
The barn also was home to a number of barn cats. It took a few years, but we were able to curtail the population. The non-feral cats became pets and each came with their own unique personality and story – hence the name of my shop… Cat Tales!
I studied business and studio art in college. My plan was to own a brick and mortar business. I did have a small cozy store on our apple farm for a number of years during the autumn months. The store closed when we moved a few years ago, as it was difficult to manage with a new home and with both of us working full-time.
I enjoy seeking new vintage finds and creating unique items. Always looking at an object wondering what I can do with it.
