Quite pleased to see all the pieces come together so nicely to make this lovely teapot.
Looking back-In this shot, I'm trying to imagine how these glazed cups will look once fired. I try to journal my process-photos are super helpful-since I jump in and out of the studio for family and day job. It helps me remember what I'm thinking :)
This mossy rock makes a great prop for photographing my Love Shack birdhouse.

Joy-fueled ceramics for a joy-filled life.

Since my first turn at the potter's wheel in 1994, I’ve been wholeheartedly enamored with clay. From Delaware to Florida, Louisiana to Maine, my studio always travels with me. Wherever my family and I make our home, my hands are busy in a ball of clay, moulding new creations to use and to share.

Like centering clay on the wheel, my craft is in constant motion, always seeking balance. Nestled between living room and kitchen, my corner studio is my creative haven—bathed in natural light, stocked with supplies and works in progress. It is also a pathway through the house for my lively children and family pets, whose bright energy is pressed into each piece like a fingerprint.

Made of mid fire stoneware, my ceramics—distinctive boxes, vases, mugs, bowls, and teapots—are wheel thrown and/or hand built. Seed pods, coral, handmade clay stamps, and sgraffito designs are used to create rhythmic surface patterns. Nature's hues inspire my glaze choices. I personally mix each glaze from recipes I've collected over the years. Pieces are twice fired in my electric kiln—vitrifying glaze and clay—creating durable and long lasting ceramics.

Using my handmade pottery at home—a mug for morning coffee, plates full for family dinner—makes me happy. I hope my ceramics will radiate the same joy for you and become a treasured part of your everyday.
