A day spent sewing is a day well spent. Ditto about climbing.
I grew up in Malaysia watching my mother sew clothes for us kids to save money. I was fascinated with the sewing machine and I would sneak opportunities to use it despite my mother's warnings not to touch it. I remember once almost sewing through my index finger! I have since learned to respect and care for this amazing machine. My mom custom made our clothes as we got fussier with our clothing options as teens. All through my teens and adulthood, I sewed. Being petite, I frequently hem pants and take in clothes to fit my frame.
I started rock climbing in late 2014 and now do both top rope and lead climbing. I made my own chalk bags (one for chalk and one to carry keys and such) and saw that majority of chalk bags climbers used were mundane. I decided to add more pizzazz into the chalk bag world and presto, Chalkbums was born. I love sewing and putting a DIY touch on items I find. Sewing has become therapeutic and I enjoy the challenge of figuring out how to turn plush toys into usable chalk bags that I myself would use. I make/repurpose items in the Twin Cities.

Terima Kasih (Thank You). Climb on. Sew on.
