Knitting: A love story
I fell in love with knitting in February. Kind of perfect, right? Being the month of love and all.
I picked up a set of needles and a skein of yarn, having no idea the difference between a knit, a purl or anything in between. Janet, the owner of a local yarn shop (which is now like my second home), taught me and I haven't looked back since.
It started with knitting pouches. When a pouch wasn't enough, I moved onto hats. I started seeing what was available in stores and realized I could easily knit myself the same thing, making it extra special because I made it. I also began taking on commissioned work from friends and family and, as they say, the rest is history.
Not a day goes by where I'm not picking up my needles and working on a project. I truly love creating knitted gifts for others - of course I enjoy wearing things I've made myself...but nothing compares to seeing the look on someone's face (or reading in an email....) when they get that special something they were so looking forward to.
