It all started with an odd little girl who liked to wear clothing and jewelry in unexpected ways. She grew up into me, and I am addicted to creating things (especially out of up-cycled items)!
I took a part-time job in a frame shop at a craft store and discovered two things: I loved to frame art, and I was really good at it despite all the math! Shortly thereafter, I discovered a third thing: the "Jewelry Section". Now, I haven't had a lot of luck finding pieces that are my style, and never wore much jewelry as a result. I really wanted a slave bracelet, but couldn't find one that I *loved* or that fit me just right, so I started browsing around the jewelry-making section on my breaks. Finally, I worked up some nerve to buy some components, a few helpful books, and some tools, and I tried my hand at creating (on my own hand) a bracelet that I would *love*.
It was such a success that I wear it even still, and I am rough on jewelry! I started to make all my own jewelry, and it was all I wore. Then, a strange thing happened. People started asking about my stuff, where they could buy it, and if I could do custom orders. I didn't realize that other people shared my tastes, and were equally in need of jewelry that suited them. So it began!
I prefer to be as environmentally friendly as possible, and will use "junk jewelry", naturally molted feathers, and recycled items whenever available. I collect hand-me-downs and love anything with a story behind it! I want to create pieces that are inspired, original, modern. Jewelry has been the same for far too long! Fantasy can (and should!) be worn every day, everyone should feel awesome in what they are wearing, we should be like leaves on the wind, soaring and free, and it shouldn't cost an arm and a leg to do it!
You can find me at local Austin music and art festivals, sharing booths with other brilliant designers (some of which you can enjoy right here on Etsy), and be sure to stop by Facebook to say hello!
