the intersection of magick and art
I started working with metals out of necessity. I’m a practicing occultist, and ceremonial magick involves the purification, consecration, and usage of talismans. I created the first planetary talismans in my apartment in New York City, melting lead for Saturn, etching silver for Luna, and eventually picked up the full fledged art of metalsmithing.
A few months down the road I had a personal experience with the Sumerian goddess Inanna. She came to me multiple times in the form of dreams, even though I had never heard of her or had any interest in the occult. This started my journey towards reviving the art of Sumerian jewelry, bringing an ancient style to modern times.
My work is inspired by the potent combination of ceremonial magick and traditional Sumerian worship. Each design starts out as a sketch, the wax prepared, and then cast into metal using the ancient art of lost wax casting. Each piece is prepared with focus and care, backed by the hands and energy of a practicing magician, wrought to bring joy and beauty as a living talisman.
